Liam Neeson, the 72-year-old star of cinema, has reconnected with one of his most iconic roles. The veteran actor reprised his portrayal of Bryan Mills, the no-nonsense retired Green Beret and CIA officer from the popular Taken franchise, in a humorous real estate video for a property in Mulgrave, Melbourne.

A Nostalgic Touch Finds a New Home

Uploaded to YouTube on Sunday, Feb. 9, the video showcases a stunning house in Mulgrave, with Neeson voicing Bryan Mills to give Taken fans a nostalgic moment. The video was conceptualized by Ming Xu, a real estate agent and director at BigginScott Glen Waverley. However, Neeson didn’t appear on camera; instead, he provided the voiceovers that made the clip stand out.

The Behind-The-Scenes Conversation

In the video, Xu speaks to Neeson on the phone, urging him to visit the property quickly. “Listen Ming, I’m shooting a movie at the moment. Do a video and send it to me,” Neeson exclaims. Xu wisely retorts, “Sure, you better be quick otherwise this home will be taken.” Neeson, ever the humorist, responds with his characteristic wit: “Oh very original. Just get me the house video, Ming.”

The Property on Display

The video highlights the property’s spacious features, including an open-plan kitchen and an expansive outdoor area complete with a swimming pool. Following the tour, Xu relaxes poolside with a glass of wine before an assistant informs him that Neeson has arrived on the scene.

“Liam, I didn’t give you the address yet,” Xu says, to which Neeson retorts with his signature gravity, “I told you, I would find you,” mimicking his iconic lines from the Taken series. This playful exchange showcases Neeson’s talent for character-play even in real-life situations.

So, how did Neeson get involved? According to the Herald Sun, Neeson’s family is friends with the property’s owners, Dean Fay and his wife Sonia, along with their daughters. Dean has worked as an assistant director on several of Neeson’s projects, including his 2022 film Blacklight. Son’s daughter, Lucy, has also freelanced on some of Neeson’s productions.

A Generous Collaboration

When contacted, Xu explained that Neeson was too busy to star in the video himself, but he was able to provide a voiceover. “I sent him a little script and he made a couple of little changes,” Dean shared with the Herald Sun. Dean praised Neeson’s generosity, adding, “Not many actors would do that for a buddy at the end of the day. We might even invite him over for an Italian meal if he has time while filming.”

Current Film Projects

Neeson is currently filming his upcoming movie, The Mongoose, in Victoria, Australia. This film marks his third project shot in the state in four years, following The Ice Road 2: Road to the Sky and Blacklight. Neeson’s presence in Australia for multiple film projects underscores the country’s growing importance as a prime location for Hollywood productions.
