KOMPAS.com – WhatsApp (WA) is now the most frequently used instant messaging platform, both for personal and work matters. Almost all important communications happen in Meta’s green app.

However, there are times when we want to “disappear” for a moment or take a break from the pile of WhatsApp chats, especially during the weekend or on leave.

The good news is, WhatsApp has many settings that can help us “no response” more elegantly without appearing to be deliberately avoiding it. Without having to uninstall application or turning off cellphone data, these five settings can be a lifesaver.

1. Enable Silence Unknown Callers

WhatsApp WhatsApp launched a new feature that is useful for users who don’t like being called by unknown numbers. This new WhatsApp feature is called silence unknown callers (mute unknown callers).

There’s nothing more annoying than a WhatsApp call from an unknown number, especially when you’re lying down or going for a walk.

The Silence unknown callers feature on WhatsApp allows you to mute calls from numbers that are not saved in your contacts.

How to activate Silence Unknown Callers:

  • Open Settings
  • Select Privacy
  • Go to Calls
  • Enable Silence unknown callers

Once active, calls from foreign numbers will still be registered, but will not ring. You are also free from feeling guilty for not answering the phone.

By default, WhatsApp displays online status and last seen so that other people know when we are active.

The problem is, during holidays we often only want to open WhatsApp for one or two important chats, not for everyone.

By hiding this status, you can still open WhatsApp freely without appearing “ready to reply”.

How to hide WA online status:

  • Go to Settings
  • Select Privacy
  • Buka Last seen and online

For the most extreme setting, you can choose so that no one can see last seen and online status. WhatsApp also provides other options, such as:
