Bienne vs Genève-Servette: Upset Victory | RTS Sport

by Archynetys Sports Desk

At home, Bienne won a precious victory in front of Genève-Servette. The Zealanders won 3-2.

In Biel, Geneva showed up with five foreigners due to the absences of Manninen and the new arrival Brassard. However, it was the Eagles who opened the scoring in the 9th through Granlund. The Zealanders thought they had equalized in the 11th minute, but the referees invalidated Kneubühler’s success. The Vaudois striker later made up for it by scoring 2-1 in the 15th minute, a little less than two minutes after Dionicio‘s equalizer.

Things settled down in the final third with Cajka (46th) then Pouliot (48th) who changed the score, but not the outcome of the match. Biel took advantage of this victory to move three points clear of 11th place. Geneva slips to 7th place, but with the same number of points as Lugano, 5th.

Leader Davos achieved another success by defeating Lugano 5-4. Quickly trailing 2-0, Rapperswil found the necessary resources to beat Zug 4-2.
