Haitian Community in Springfield, Ohio, Seeks Solace and Guidance Amid Trump’s Immigration Crackdown

In a small sanctuary in Springfield, Ohio, the First Haitian Evangelical Church has become a haven of hope and prayer for its congregation. As church bells resonate through the community, the pastor, Rev. Reginald Silencieux, leads his flock in a fervent prayer for both Haiti and the United States, beseeching divine protection amidst growing uncertainty.

Following his Sunday service, Rev. Silencieux shared, “I asked God to protect my people. I prayed especially for the Haitian community, and I prayed for the U.S.A. too, because Trump is our president. As a church, we have an obligation to pray for him because he’s our political leader right now.”
