Real Cartagena achieved a key victory, 1-2, in its visit to Real Cundinamarca at the Techo stadium, for the fourth date of group B of the BetPlay II-2025 Tournament, a result that keeps it with a firm chance of qualifying for the grand final. The Heroicos break a streak of six games without winning, and add their tenth victory in history in Bogotá.

The local team opened the scoring through Bayron Caicedo, who finished a counterattack in a great way, just 5 minutes into the game. However, the heroic team reacted quickly: in the 20th minute, Álvaro Meléndez, after a precise assist from Fredy Montero, took an almost impossible shot that ended in a great goal to sign the partial 1-1.

In the second half, Real Cartagena continued to insist and found a reward. Just after the hour of action, a foul in the area led to a penalty that Montero changed into a goal with complete certainty, defining the angle to complete the comeback. At minute 72, Craviotto sent Juan David Rodríguez onto the field instead of Michael Ortega, with the intention of putting in a strong leg that would secure the score.

Everything was going in the right direction, until in the 83rd minute anguish came to the Cartagena team. The referee declared a maximum penalty for Cundinamarca, after a foul by Duque, but Jayder Asprilla’s shot went wide.

With this victory, Real Cartagena reached 6 points in its zone, one less than Cundinamarca, so it faces the last two dates with the hope intact of advancing to the grand final and fighting for promotion. The next match will be against Patriotas at the Jaime Morón León with a date and time to be confirmed.
