910 students of the Grodno region will show their knowledge at the third stage of the republican Olympiad

In the Grodno region, 910 students will take part in the third (regional) stage of the republican Olympiad in academic subjects. BelTA was informed about this in the main education department of the Grodno regional executive committee.

The regional stage will take place from 10 to 14 January. Students will demonstrate their knowledge in 18 subjects. The most massive in terms of the number of participants will be Olympiads in mathematics and foreign languages. The jury includes about 200 teachers from all over the region.

“Tours of the Olympiads will be held on the basis of vocational education institutions in Grodno and Skidel, as well as institutions of general secondary education of the regional center. Another platform will be the Grodno Regional Institute for the Development of Education,” the head education department of the regional executive committee said. It is emphasized that the Olympiads will be conducted on the principle of centralized testing. This is done to ensure maximum confidentiality of assignments, exclude cases of information leakage, and ensure transparent work of the jury.

Also, the focus is on compliance with anti-epidemic measures, seating is provided with a distance. All participants will be offered disposable masks and antiseptics.

The winners of the regional round will be able to represent the region at the final stage of the republican Olympiad in academic subjects. It will take place during spring break in regional and regional centers of the country. Four Olympiads will be held on the basis of the Grodno region: in physics, astronomy, computer science (Grodno), in mathematics (Slonim).
