An eight-year-old refugee from Ukraine, Zlata Khomenko, took part in the Spanish show “Spain Has Talent”, touching the jury of the competition. The little Ukrainian girl performed a classic ballet number dedicated to her homeland.
Aside from the amazing dancing skills, the jury couldn’t hold back tears at Zlata’s emotional treatment of the all-out war that Russia has brought to Ukraine. The video with the performance of the girl was published on the YouTube channel of the talent show.
Zlata took the stage accompanied by her teacher, José Antonio Checa, who introduced her because “it’s still hard for her to speak Spanish”.
“She is a Ukrainian refugee girl. She was recommended to my ballet school and has a scholarship. I am incredibly proud of her,” said her mentor.
Then Khomenko introduced himself in his native language: “I came to Got Talent to dance ballet and would like to move far in the program. I always wanted to be a dancer and travel to all the theaters of the world with my talent,” the Ukrainian said and added with tears that she dedicates her performance to everyone children who are in Ukraine, and all Ukrainians.
Zlata captivated everyone with her performance and received the Golden Pass, which automatically gives the contestant a direct entry into the semi-finals.
The little ballerina also wished that she could be reunited with her loved ones as soon as possible. The jury members congratulated her and could not hold back her tears because of her words.
“Thank you very much for your support, I am very happy to represent my country. I hope that all of you can somehow help Ukraine and the war will end,” Khomenko added to a standing ovation and congratulations.
Recall that earlier the network was touched by a Ukrainian fishing boy in Switzerland.
