In accordance to the Countrywide Heart for Seismology, a large 6.1 magnitude earthquake in close proximity to the border among India and Myanmar was claimed on Friday early morning.

Tremors have been felt in Tripura, Manipur, Mizoram and Assam. Witness accounts on the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) web-site said the earthquake was felt as significantly as Calcutta.

“It was 1 of the longest earthquakes I have at any time felt,” 1 such witness from Mizoram’s Thenzawl posted on EMSC.
