For those hungry for culture: Letters from Mozart

Leipzig actress Cora Chilcott brings Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart back to life on Saturday 24 September – not with music, but monologically. “Forever your Mozart” is the name of her program in the Alte Handelsbörse (Naschmarkt 1), which consists of a selection of Mozart’s letters to friends and family as well as sung arias.

Cora Chilcott worked as an actress at the Berliner Ensemble from 2001 to 2014 and has performed a wide variety of acting solos. Appearances with “Ewig dein Mozart” have already taken her to the Mozart Society in Stuttgart, the Mozart Society in Dresden, the Chursächsische Mozartwochen in Bad Elster and the Renaissance Theater in Berlin. It starts at 7.30 p.m. Tickets are available in advance for 18 euros at www.nukla.de/veranstaltungen.

For families: open day at the city cleaning department

The Stadtreinigung Leipzig invites you to an open day on the company premises at Geithainer Straße 60 on Saturday. The younger audience can while away the time with face painting and handicrafts. Waste collection vehicles are also available for a ride. There are also hands-on campaigns by the traffic police, a presentation by the local fire brigade in Mölkau and a repair treasure hunt and tips from the repair café.
