Nearly 500 patients have died of coronavirus in French hospitals in the last 24 hours, announced Tuesday the Director General of Health, Jérôme Salomon. This is a new record increase since the start of the epidemic, bringing the total toll to 3,523 deaths.
The number of coronavirus-related deaths continues to increase every day in France. French hospitals have recorded 499 new deaths from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, for a total of 3,523 since 1er March, said Director General of Health Jérôme Salomon on Tuesday March 31. This is the largest daily increase in the country since the start of the epidemic.
The number of confirmed contamination cases also increased by 17% in one day to reach 52,128, against 44,550 the previous day.
The number of people hospitalized stands at 22,757, including 5,565 serious cases in intensive care.
