KOMPAS.com – In the context of preventing corona virus transmission, PT KAI provides rapid test services spread across 12 stations.
KAI Public Relations VP, Joni Martinus revealed, 12 stations included Gambir Station, Pasar Senen, Bandung, Cirebon, Semarang Tawang, Purwokerto, Yogyakarta, Solo Racing, Madiun, Surabaya Gubeng, Surabaya Pasarturi, and Malang.
Joni added, this service was carried out thanks to the cooperation of SOEs between KAI and PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (RNI).
As is known, for prospective train passengers who want to travel far, conducting a rapid test with negative results is one of the requirements in order to be able to travel by train.
So, what are the things you need to know about the rapid test services at this station?
1. Services take effect from July 27
Joni revealed, initially the new rapid test service was available at Pasar Senen Station, Jakarta, on July 27, 2020.
Then, the service will be implemented in other stations gradually.
“Rapid tests began to open services starting Monday (7/27/2020) at Pasar Senen Station, then evenly continued on 11 other stations on July 30, 2020,” Joni said when contacted Kompas.com, Saturday (1/8/2020).

2. Costs and conditions for rapid tests
Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 6, Eko Budiyanto said, the rapid test service available at the station is intended for prospective long-distance train passengers.
“For prospective long-distance passengers, for example the Solo-Jakarta relationship, or the Jogja-Surabaya relationship, and others,” Eko said Kompas.com, Saturday (1/8/2020).
In addition, Eko explained that the conditions for wanting to do a rapid test at the station were by showing a long-distance train travel ticket.
“The condition is that you must have a long-distance train ticket. As a condition of taking the train, and don’t be late,” said Eko.
The rapid test service fee at the station is IDR 85,000.
Meanwhile, the rapid test service available at these 12 stations has service hours starting at 07.00 WIB until 19.00 WIB.
Rapid test services are also maintained by officers to ensure the queues are in accordance with the rules of distance keeping.
Regarding the implementation of rapid tests, Joni added, prospective passengers are allowed to do rapid tests a few days before departure.
However, prospective passengers should do a rapid test the day before the train departure.
Not only providing rapid test services, prospective long-distance train passengers will get a free face shield.

3. Rapid test time
In addition, what needs to be considered in the rapid test is the rapid test period of 14 days.
This is in accordance with government regulations where the rapid test period is 14 days.
The results of this rapid test can be used to take the train more than once while it is still in valid period.
4. If the results are reactive
On the other hand, if a prospective passenger has a reactive result on a rapid test, then the ticket will be returned 100 percent.
For returning tickets, users can exchange tickets directly at the ticket window.
Later, patients who are reactive will be encouraged to do a swab or PCR examination at the puskesmas or hospital.
“If anyone is reactive, of course our partner PT RNI will give direction and appeal, for example by appealing to those concerned to continue the swab test to the puskesmas or hospital,” Joni said.
