30 upcoming Nintendo Switch games you shouldn’t miss

We’re nearing the end of 2021 now, and we’ve seen some great games coming to Switch this year. It’s also true that some big names have slipped into 2022 – for understandable reasons – but there are still some big shots to come before the bell rings on December 31st.

Below we’ve updated our list and rounded up thirty of the biggest Switch games we can’t wait to see – both the rest we’re waiting for in the final month of 2021 and all the big ones slated for 2022. range from offers first promising AAA indie party. There are some big names that are still in for this year, so let’s hope for some surprises as we head into the holidays (fingers crossed!).

We had A lot of great titles so far this year with the likes of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, Bravely Default II, Monster Hunter Rise, New Pok√©mon Snap, Famicom Detective Club, Game Builder Garage, Mario Golf: Super Rush, Tony Hawk’s 1+ 2, Disgaea 6, Monster Hunter Stories 2, Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, WarioWare: Get It Together! and Metroid Dread *to breathe* – plus a huge number of great indie titles. With only a few weeks left, though, there’s still a lot to look forward to before the year ends.

So, let’s take a look at our most anticipated Switch games …

Announced on a quiet Thursday in early September, the Big Brain Academy series – the slightly more laid-back sibling of Brain Age / Brain training from the Nintendo DS era, returns in December with Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain on Switch.

With brain-based 4-player matches, you’ll also be able to battle brains from around the world through a new online mode where you challenge other people’s ghost data in a brain-to-brain scenario. He’s out December 3 and it looks like a decent family holiday fare.

This is a wholesome and delightfully colorful adventure inspired by Disney theme parks and the vast array of characters and franchises. This has areas inspired by films like Frozen and The Little Mermaid, with improved visual effects and all the DLCs of the original 3DS; it is due on December 3.

The inexplicable absence of the episodic Life Is Strange series on Switch has finally been addressed: Square Enix Europe brings both Life Is Strange: True Colors and Life Is Strange Remastered Collection to the Nintendo console this year.

True Colors was supposed to arrive on September 10 before being postponed – apparently it’s on its way December 7 Now. The Remastered Collection has been postponed to 2022.

Release date: December 9, 2021 (United States of America) / December 9, 2021 (UK / EU)

Announced as part of Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase in August 2021, Loop Hero is a timeloop strategic RPG coming to Switch that lets you wander in a procedurally generated look battling monsters and consuming your energy and resources as you go.

It sounds grim, but it came out in March 2021 on PC platforms and its card gameplay and old-school aesthetic are highly regarded. We will find out what it is December 9.

Shovel Knight has been a game that has rightfully earned rave reviews and a large fan base, with many updates making it an action-heavy platformer. After an almost incalculable number of cameos in other games, we now have a new game, Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon, with a slightly different take on the main character and the extended cast.

It will bring puzzles and “bump” battle mechanics into the mix up 13 December.

Release date: Q4 2021 (United States of America)

Announced over the summer, this is a very different look for the series following the success of the two original games. Once again you’ll be skateboarding through difficult paths and performing all sorts of neat tricks, but this time it’s in an extremely colorful world with an overhauled visual style. This will offer some much needed warm weather vibes when it arrives this winter.

Obsidian’s Pillars of Eternity collected the torch placed by Baldur’s Gate many moons ago, and both games are available to play on your favorite Nintendo hybrid handheld. Pillars Of Eternity II: Deadfire is coming soon and is set five years after the events of the previous game. It has been available on PS4 and Xbox One since January 2020, although it has had its performance issues on these consoles. Hopefully, the extra time spent with the Switch port will resolve any significant issues.

This was supposed to come in early 2021, even if it lost that window. Fingers crossed that we will see it before the end of the year.

First announced in December 2019 for a mid-2020 release, this Switch-exclusive sequel to the first indie hit Golf Story has been postponed and we hope to see the arrival of Sidebar Games’ hybrid sports RPG. in 2021. If Sports Story is as fun as the Mario Golf-inspired original, it will be more than worth the wait.
