3-Year-Old Shot: Boy Injured in Shooting

Charlotte, NC.- A 3-year-old boy was seriously injured during a shooting that occurred over the weekend in the parking lot of an apartment complex on the city’s east side, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD).

The incident occurred around 8:15 pm on Saturday, October 19, in the 5700 block of Sloping Oaks Road. According to the police report, someone shot at an occupied vehicle, causing an estimated $10,000 in damage and leaving the minor with serious injuries.

Also in the vehicle were two men, ages 29 and 37, identified as victims in the report. The 29-year-old man was threatened with a gun, while the 37-year-old man was not injured.

Authorities noted that the victims did not know the suspect.

The case is being investigated as an aggravated assault and property damage. So far, no arrests have been made.
