In a bold move, organizers of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games (LA28) have unveiled a plan to concurrently host the opening ceremony across two iconic venues: the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and the state-of-the-art SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. SoFi Stadium will also host the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games on August 15, 2028.
The closing ceremony for the Olympic Games will be held at the LA Memorial Coliseum on July 30, 2028, while the Paralympic Games closing ceremony will be held there on August 27, 2028.

Beyond the opening and closing ceremonies, the LA28 Games are taking shape with the proclamation of venues for a wide array of sports. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has already approved the updated list of venues presented by the LA28 Organizing Committee last month. These include:
- Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
- SoFi Stadium
- Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area
- BMO Stadium in exposition Park
- Los Angeles Convention Center
- Crypto.com Arena
- Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson
- Rose Bowl in Pasadena
