Valencia has reached an agreement for the players of the first squad, its coaching staff and managers to reduce their salaries, and to present an ERTE that will affect other workers of the entity, in the face of the crisis caused by the coronavirus.
In a statement, the club announced an agreement that supposes the “protection of the jobs of all its workers and the wages of its vast majority, through individual agreements and a Temporary Employment Regulation File (ERTE), the legal instrument intended for situations of reduced activity due to force majeure.
“Given the consequent forecast of a significant decrease in income, the predisposition of players and coaches of the first team and youth team, in addition to senior management, has been at all times, since the beginning of the talks and in an exercise of responsibility and mutual trust, that of helping to guarantee the economic sustainability of the club at a time of difficulty and uncertainty for the future for all, “the statement said.
The entity affirms that since “the priority” has been “to secure its commitment to protect its most vulnerable workers against the uncertain evolution of the situation, Valencia CF will supplement its earnings with a very high percentage of its workers”.
“The club particularly appreciates the solidarity effort of the first team, by reducing their wages, to help the entity protect all workers and their families in such difficult circumstances,” he points out.
