The UFC, the largest professional mixed martial arts (MMA) league, wants to circumvent the prohibition directives linked to the coronavirus having stopped the sport in the United States, by organizing a fight on an Indian reserve in California April 18, reports the New York Times. According to the daily, Dana White, boss of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, plans to hold the UFC 249 evening at the Tachi Palace Resort Casino, not far from the Sequoia National Forest. UFC 249 was originally scheduled to offer a bout between lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov to American Tony Ferguson. But the Russian gave up, because of the coronavirus. Ferguson must instead face fellow countryman Justin Gaethje.
