Rand 8700 coronavirus patients in Hessen are now considered to have recovered from their infection, about 100 more than on Tuesday. This results from the daily figures of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), which is responsible for the control of epidemics. There have been four more deaths related to the pandemic since March 2, when records began. All deaths officially add up to 466. In mathematical terms, 18.7 people recovered per corona victim. This ratio has improved slightly in the past few days.

The RKI and the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs give the number of new infections at 56. There is good news in this regard from Darmstadt and two districts in Central Hesse. The 56 mean an increase of almost 0.6 percent overnight. All in all, 9860 Covid-19 infections between the border with Lower Saxony and the southern Odenwald have been confirmed since the beginning of March.
With regard to the important brand 50 in the so-called seven-day incidence, all independent cities and counties are still on the safe side. This incidence relates to the new cases per 100,000 inhabitants within a week. If the value of 50 is exceeded, the respective health department could have the Corona rules relaxed. For the districts of Lahn-Dill and Vogelsberg, the state continues to show zero. According to the Bulletin of the Ministry of Social Affairs, the same applies recently to the city of Darmstadt. There are two new cases in the Fulda district, most recently with a clean slate. Four circles come to a one. Wiesbaden is the leader in this negative list with a value of 13.
With regard to the number of people who have recovered, the following restriction must always be observed: As the RKI informed the FAZ, it does not officially collect data on the number of people who have recovered. The survey was also not provided for by law. “However, at least in the cases in which most of the information was ascertained, which had no severe symptoms and were not admitted to a hospital, it can be assumed that they will have recovered after 14 days at the latest,” says Berlin on Seat of the institute. The RKI only estimates the number of those recovered.
As the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs reported last week, 572 Covid-19 patients were in Hessian clinics at the time. Accordingly, 110 of them had to be ventilated. 9841 beds were free. The same was true for 853 beds with ventilators, according to the ministry. Because there is no emergency in this regard either, an inexpensive Marburg invention is currently not being used.
The RKI takes into account those cases that were transmitted at midnight on the respective day. “For the presentation of the newly transmitted cases per day, the reporting date is used – the date on which the local health authority became aware of the case and recorded it electronically,” says the website of the institute. It could take a few days between the notification by the doctors and laboratories to the health authority and the transmission of the cases to the responsible state authorities and the RKI. In such cases there is talk of late reporting.
