Charlie Nicholas is back with his Premier League predictions for a full set of actions this coming weekend.
Wolves vs Everton, Sunday – 12 p.m., live on Sky Sports
This is another good game. The wolves were disappointing after believing they were part of the mix of the first four. It was the first time I saw them appear cautious and they seemed almost unsure of the pressure. The matches were winnable and they did not play badly against Sheffield United but in attack they were disappointing.
Wolves vs Everton

I don’t know what’s going on at Everton Football Club. They promise so much for three weeks, then it goes down. What are Carlo Ancelotti’s options? They don’t have much.
You thought there was a small chance for Everton to finish in one of the European locations. Since then, they have been lacking in desire, have been inconsistent and there are still problems within the team.
It’s a tricky game but it’s a wolf who should win. I don’t think they’ll be in the top four now, but they should be prepared for any mistakes. They could still close the gap and this is their last chance.
CHARLIE PREDICTS: 2-1 (17/2 with Sky Bet)
Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace, Sunday – 2:15 p.m., live on Sky Sports
It is also a last chance territory for Aston Villa. Crystal Palace is so unpredictable and Gary Cahill will be absent, so they could be weak in the back. Wilfried Zaha will cause problems – he scored a big goal against Chelsea and Villa will be agitated by him.
A Villa vs C Palace
July 12, 2020, 2:00 p.m.
I expected a result for Villa against Man Utd. They played well in the first 20 minutes, but Villa is a team that doesn’t have a lot of background chances. Jack Grealish needs players to understand their position in order to play a killer pass more, but if you don’t release it early enough, chances won’t arise. Sometimes it can be easy to play against.
Other Villa players are doing their best, but it just doesn’t happen to them. John McGinn isn’t there with his control and speed, but it’s a must-have scenario for Villa. I’m tempted to say they have to take a break, but you’re out of luck when you fill these positions and they got it with some of the VAR decisions. I still don’t see them doing it here. I think they may have disappeared.
CHARLIE PREDICTS: 1-1 (5/1 with Sky Bet)
Tottenham vs Arsenal, Sunday – 4.30 p.m., live on Sky Sports
It’s a game where they will look at each other and realize that they have become average teams. From Arsenal’s point of view, they are improving. It is slow and not overly attractive, despite decent play ahead.
Tottenham vs Arsenal
July 12, 2020, 4:15 p.m.
Tottenham steps back. You watch Heung-Min Son, and I can regret it, but they seem to be playing as individuals. There is no team pattern, but the defense changes and they keep a blank sheet. Harry Kane should have had a penalty but Bournemouth should have had a goal.
It is a team led by Jose Mourinho who has no identity. It’s hard work and they piggyback but it doesn’t work. Tanguy Ndombele arrives for songs, Giovani Lo Celso is kind and neat, and Erik Lamela has great abilities. Harry Kane is still a threat against Arsenal, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he scored again.
The last three from Arsenal looked more solid and more in control, so for these improvements, alongside Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos, Arsenal looked better. These two are not my favorites and they are weak defensively as a support pair, but they have improved on the ball.
Tottenham could increase their game, but Arsenal will be dangerous in the counterattack. Serge Aurier makes mistakes and Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will both play while Eddie Nketiah is suspended, but I think that Arsenal could see them disappear.
CHARLIE FORECAST: 1-2 (9/1 with Sky Bet)
Bournemouth vs Leicester, Sunday – 7 p.m., live on Sky Sports
Bournemouth was a bit unlucky against Tottenham and probably should have won it. The goal was not lucky, but you can see that there is a bit of a fight. David Brooks and Callum Wilson are back.
B’mouth vs Leicester
July 12, 2020, 6.30 p.m.
Jamie Vardy is targeting the winner of the Golden Boot and he is still a threat. James Maddison may not be in good shape, but I still see enough problems with Leicester. They don’t keep the ball or move it either, but they like an open game, and that tends to favor Leicester when they start like that. I think Bournemouth’s fight and desire can make them overtake in this one.
CHARLIE PREDICTS: 2-1 (16/1 with Sky Bet)
Manchester United vs Southampton, Monday – 8 p.m., live on Sky Sports
Man Utd was dominant after the first 20 minutes at Villa Park, then he became a walk in the park. Anthony Martial watched him in parts, but he seemed desperate to score goals, as did Marcus Rashford. It was a nice strike from Mason Greenwood on his right foot.
Southampton is awkward, flowing, nice and tidy, but it’s their defense that looks much improved. Man Utd, the size of the club and the momentum they have, have grown much faster than I thought.
Man Utd vs So’ton
July 13, 2020, 7:30 p.m.
Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba are featured, but the penalty changes the game and they can be dominant after that, but the penalty was very questionable. A giant like Man Utd must rank in the top four and it looks like he will get it. They don’t care about the top two at the moment, they just need to keep winning games and grabbing that top four. I expect United to win and nail the top four.
CHARLIE PREDICTS: 3-1 (10/1 with Sky Bet)
